Man attempts to kill pregnant spouse

A man in Kamuli district is on a run allegedly for attempting to kill his spouse. The girl indentified as Nandase Irene aged fifteen years survived being murdered by one Waiswa who allegedly is the boy friend. She is said to be carrying Waiswa’s pregnancy.

It was around 10pm on the night of 24 October after supper when the victim went to ease her self only to meet her fate. It is said waiswa had taken cover around the veranda and cut her across the head repeatedly, kicked her before she could escape back to the house. By the time her father who by that time was in bed came to her rescue, Waiswa had taken off.

The next morning police with the help of the police dog “Rambo“sought after the assailant for about four kilometers to his residence. Apparently Irene’s parents were threatening to sue Waiswa for defilement after they had failed to settle the issue amicably. The victim’s parents allege that it’s because of this that Waiswa chose on this horrible move. When the police inquired about Waiswa, his neighbors said he had been away for a week. However others say they had seen him the previous night. The police is still hunting for him since he is the key suspect in this case, and also appeals to the public to provide any information that may lead to Waiswa’s arrest.
